Sairees white sandy beach stretches about 1.7km along the west coast interrupted by only a few large scenic rock formations. Also here is the fishery museum, The King Rama V rock, police station, school and temple (Wat). MAE HAAD. The commercial centre of Koh Tao but still managing to keep some of its old fishing- village charm. All the ferry boats arrive here from Samui, Phangan and Chumpon. CHALOK BAAN KAO. Located on the south coast this is the third largest beach. Much quieter than Sairee but still ofers a similar variety of restaurants and night life. The bay is beutifully framed by Taa Toh lagoon to the east and Saan Jao beach to the west. AO LEUK On the west coast this is one of the most beautiful beaches on Koh Tao. There are a couple of simple restaurants in breathtaking surroundings. The crystal clear water makes this am ideal spot for snorkelling or padelling surrounded by tropical fish. JANSOM BAY. Only 10 minutes walk from Mae Haad and connected to Sai Nuan Bay this is another excellent snorkelling site. TANOTE BAY. Well preserved secluded bay with excellent snorkelling, a dive resort and watersport centre. NANG YUAN. This unique group of 3 islands joined by narrow sand spits located off the northeast coast is a "must see" for any visitor to Koh Tao. NORTH AND WEST COAST. There are several more small enchanting coves dotted around the coast which are best reached by water taxi where you can spend the day relaxing and swimming in the clear blue waters.
